Museumplein

Whether you want to climb on the giant letters spelling IAMSTERDAM, run up and down the sloping grass roof of the car park (called ‘het ezelsoor’, meaning donkey’s ear) or have a picnic on the grass, the Museumplein offers many ways to have fun. In summer you can dip your toes in the large pond which in wintertime is turned into an ice skating rink where you can rent skates or just go for a hot chocolate. Still not tired? Then proceed to the playground next to the Cobra Café (check out its terrace), which also features a basketball court and a halfpipe for skateboarding daredevils.
